Following conviction of Asaram, the ashram bearers in Delhi are saying they will move to a higher court to challenge the decision.

“Whatever decision came from the lower court, we respect that and as we have legal right, we will move to high court to challenge the conviction,” said Pradeep Mishra, a worker at his Jhandewalan ashram.

Mishra told Mail Today that a meeting was held in the ashram 10 days ago and it was unanimously decided to not organise any dharna, protest and agitation in the country against whatever the decision would come from the court.

The followers of Asaram also directed to avoid going to Jodhpur. They have been asked not to involve in any kind of violence.

“We have been waiting for detailed judgment copy from the court followed by analysis and then file a petition in Rajasthan HC within 10 days,” he said.

Asaram has several ashrams across the country and one of them at Jhandewalan has 600 to 700 followers.
