{"id":11106,"date":"2020-11-26T07:22:06","date_gmt":"2020-11-26T07:22:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/?p=11106"},"modified":"2020-11-26T07:22:06","modified_gmt":"2020-11-26T07:22:06","slug":"delhi-police-refuse-permission-for-farmers-protest-march-warn-of-legal-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/delhi-police-refuse-permission-for-farmers-protest-march-warn-of-legal-action\/","title":{"rendered":"Delhi Police refuse permission for farmers\u2019 protest march, warn of legal action"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Source:-https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Delhi Police on Wednesday said that they have refused permission to farmers\u2019 organisations to protest in Delhi on Thursday and Friday and that any such gathering in the national capital will attract legal action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The protesting farmers from Punjab and Haryana are scheduled to reach Delhi on Thursday via several highways for their two-day protest march named \u2018<strong>Delhi Chalo\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eish Singhal, deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi), who is also the Delhi Police spokesperson, said that all the requests received from various farmer organisations have been rejected and this has been communicated to them already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singhal said that two such requests were received by his office, and both were rejected. Jantar Mantar, which is the usual location for such large protests, is in the New Delhi district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPlease co-operate with Delhi Police in ensuring no gathering in Delhi amid Coronavirus, failing which legal action will be taken,\u201d Singhal said on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, the police have registered hundreds of cases against protesters who took to the streets without police permission during the pandemic.
