{"id":3048,"date":"2018-08-03T06:01:31","date_gmt":"2018-08-03T06:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/?p=3048"},"modified":"2018-08-03T06:01:31","modified_gmt":"2018-08-03T06:01:31","slug":"former-bcci-chief-anurag-thakur-files-petition-with-supreme-court-asking-for-his-side-of-story-to-be-heard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/former-bcci-chief-anurag-thakur-files-petition-with-supreme-court-asking-for-his-side-of-story-to-be-heard\/","title":{"rendered":"Former BCCI chief Anurag Thakur files petition with Supreme Court asking for &#8216;his side of story&#8217; to be heard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3049\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/anurag-thakur-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/anurag-thakur-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/anurag-thakur.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Source &#8211;\u00a0firstpost.com<\/p>\n<p>It has been\u00a0a year and eight months since Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke were ousted by the Supreme Court\u00a0of India\u00a0from the posts of BCCI president and secretary respectively for trying to hinder the implementation of the Lodha reforms.<\/p>\n<p>After spending all this time\u00a0on the sidelines, Thakur has decided to approach the Supreme Court in order to get\u00a0&#8220;his side of the story heard&#8221;, and possibly reverse the\u00a0Court&#8217;s decision\u00a0that was taken on 2 January, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report on\u00a0<em>Cricketnext<\/em>, Thakur has filed a petition with the apex court, stating that he was unrepresented when he was sacked from his position. He added that he had carried out his\u00a0responsibilities\u00a0as an administrator with distinction since 2000, first with the Himachal Pradesh\u00a0Cricket Association\u00a0(HPCA) and then with the BCCI.<\/p>\n<p>The former Himachal Pradesh\u00a0chief minister added that\u00a0his ouster from\u00a0BCCI caused him a great deal of embarrassment, and that he has been under public scrutiny ever since.<\/p>\n<p>In his petition, Thakur hoped that the\u00a0current bench comprising of\u00a0Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice DY Chandrachud will hear him out at least once, with\u00a0his pleas to the previous bench failing to get him any form of representation in the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>In a landmark judgement on 18 July, 2016, the Supreme Court\u00a0had passed most of the\u00a0reforms suggested by the Lodha committee.
