Narayana Kurup will probe the incident relating to the death of 49-year-old Rajkumar in police custody and file a report within six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two policemen, a sub-inspector and a civil police officer of the Nedumkandam police station, where the incident took place, has been arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vijayan said the Crime Branch investigation in the case will continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such an incident could not be justified, the chief minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opposition Congress-led UDF had raised the issue in the Assembly and demanded a judicial probe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rajkumar\u2019s mother and relatives had led a protest march to the state Assembly on Thursday seeking a CBI probe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deceased was taken into custody in connection with a financial fraud case on June 12 and allegedly tortured by police personnel at the Nedumkandam police station for four days, following which he died at the Peermedu sub-jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The post-mortem report of the deceased and the remand report of the two arrested police personnel had confirmed that Rajkumar was brutally tortured and had several injuries on his body.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-background-color\">\n\t\t\t  <div \n\t\t\t  \tclass = \"fb-comments\" \n\t\t\t  \tdata-href = \"https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/kerala-orders-judicial-probe-into-custodial-death-of-prisoner\/\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-numposts = \"5\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-lazy = \"true\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-colorscheme = \"light\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-order-by = \"social\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-mobile=true>\n\t\t\t  <\/div><\/div>\n\t\t  <style>\n\t\t    .fb-background-color {\n\t\t\t\tbackground:  !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t.fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe {\n\t\t\t    width: 100% !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t  <\/style>\n\t\t  ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sourcce: thewire.in Thiruvananthapuram:&nbsp;The Kerala government on Friday ordered a judicial probe into the alleged custodial torture and death of a remand prisoner in a jail in Idukki district, days after the issue rocked the state.
