We have become busy with our own lives that sometimes we forget our nation,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"outline: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 20px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: medium; line-height: 28px; font-family: 'Droid Serif', serif; color: #3e3e3e;\">The court was hearing a petition filed by K Veeramani, a candidate who failed the Teachers Recruitment Board\u2019s written test for the post of \u2018BT Assistant\u2019. Veeramani claimed that he had missed recruitment to the post by one mark due to \u201cwrong\u201d evaluation for a question on Vande Mataram. The question was, \u201cin which language was Vande Mataram written first?\u201d. Veeramani had written Bengali, but his answer was marked wrong. He was awarded 89 marks against the minimum 90 to be eligible for appointment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"outline: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 20px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: medium; line-height: 28px; font-family: 'Droid Serif', serif; color: #3e3e3e;\">During the arguments, the government pleader said the song was originally written in Sanskrit, and later translated in Bengali. On April 17, a three-judge bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra issued notice to the Centre on the petition filed by Delhi BJP spokesperson Ashwani Upadhyay.
