Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister\u00a0Anisul Huq has said the country\u2019s legal system would not spare the people involved in the murder of Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of Electric and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister said these while addressing a children dialogue marking the Children Rights Week and 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, at National Shishu Academy in Dhaka on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Save the Children Director Abdullah Al Mamun gave welcome speech at the function while Additional Secretary of Women and Children Affairs Ministry Qamrun Nahar was present as special guest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe culprits would be given maximum punishment under the existing law,\u201d the minister said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anisul at the function answered questions of child representatives who came from across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSheikh Hasina\u2019s government has set an example by finishing Razan murder trial of Sylhet and Rakib murder trial of Khulna in quickest possible time,\u201d the minister also said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe trial over murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan is also being completed swiftly as the judgement is waiting to be pronounced,\u201d the minister further said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While talking about ragging culture in educational institutions, Anisul said it is definitely a crime and the victim should instantly let concerned authorities and the guardians know about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf the authorities of the concerned institutes do not take proper action, they too shall be brought to justice,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
