{"id":8388,"date":"2019-12-17T06:13:19","date_gmt":"2019-12-17T06:13:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/?p=8388"},"modified":"2019-12-17T06:13:19","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T06:13:19","slug":"top-court-refuses-to-entertain-lawyers-plea-over-tis-hazari-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/top-court-refuses-to-entertain-lawyers-plea-over-tis-hazari-clash\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Court Refuses To Entertain Lawyers&#8217; Plea Over Tis Hazari Clash."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Source &#8211; ndtv.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New Delhi:&nbsp;<\/strong>The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea filed by advocates seeking disciplinary action against police personnel who sat on protest after the lawyers-police clash at Tis Hazari court complex and asked them to approach the Delhi High Court for relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top court said the high court is seized of the matter and had passed several orders in the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A bench of Justices Arun Mishra and Indira Banerjee refused to entertain the plea but gave liberty to the petitioners including advocate GS Mani to approach the high court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It asked the high court for speedy disposal of the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, the top court had sought placing of orders passed by the Delhi High Court on the lawyers-police clash at Tis Hazari court complex and the subsequent protest by the policemen at their headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It had said it doesn&#8217;t want to start a parallel proceeding since the high court is seized of the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lawyers and police had clashed over a parking dispute at Tis Hazari Court complex in Delhi on November 2 during which at least 20 police personnel and several lawyers were injured while 17 vehicles vandalised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two days later, lawyers of all six district courts had gone on a strike which was called off on November 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an unprecedented protest by the Delhi Police, thousands of its personnel had picketed outside police headquarters for 11 hours on November 5 and staged a virtual revolt sparked by two attacks on their colleagues by the lawyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Delhi High Court, which took suo motu (on its own) cognisance of media reports on the incident, ordered a judicial inquiry by one of its former judges, Justice (retd) SP Garg, into the matter.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-background-color\">\n\t\t\t  <div \n\t\t\t  \tclass = \"fb-comments\" \n\t\t\t  \tdata-href = \"https:\/\/www.wakilsahab.in\/news\/top-court-refuses-to-entertain-lawyers-plea-over-tis-hazari-clash\/\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-numposts = \"5\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-lazy = \"true\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-colorscheme = \"light\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-order-by = \"social\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-mobile=true>\n\t\t\t  <\/div><\/div>\n\t\t  <style>\n\t\t    .fb-background-color {\n\t\t\t\tbackground:  !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t.fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe {\n\t\t\t    width: 100% !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t  <\/style>\n\t\t  ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source &#8211; ndtv.com New Delhi:&nbsp;The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea filed by advocates seeking disciplinary action against police personnel who sat on protest after the lawyers-police clash at Tis Hazari court complex and asked them to approach the Delhi High Court for relief.
