Family members of some of those killed in the Bakoria gun battle of 2015 on Thursday met Hemant Soren at the chief minister\u2019s official residence and demanded compensation, and job for one member of each family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They expressed concern over the Central Bureau of \nInvestigation (CBI) probe into the case, pointing out that that the \nagency had not made any breakthrough, and said they feared they would \nnot get justice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hemant is learned to have assured them of looking into their complaint and demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\n the night of June 8, 2015, Jharkhand police and CRPF personnel had \ngunned down 12 people including two minors at Bakoria under Satbarwa \npolice station of Palamau district, and claimed they were rebels \nassociated with CPI(Maoist). Except one person, identified as Anurag \nalias Dr Bomb, none of the others had any criminal background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In November 2018, Jharkhand High Court directed the CBI to take\n up the investigation, observing that the state police had failed to \nprobe the case properly. The court\u2019s direction came while hearing a \npublic interest litigation filed by Jawahar Yadav in 2016. Jawahar\u2019s son\n Uday was among those killed. \u201cThey were killed by JJMP members on \ninstruction of police. My son was a para-teacher and he was innocent,\u201d \nJawahar said on Thursday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uday\u2019s widow Manju and 14-year-old son \nTushar also met the CM. \u201cI have to take care of two children and I don\u2019t\n have any source of income,\u201d Manju said. \u201cMy daughter Priyanshu is in \nIntermediate and I want the government to give job to either of my \nchildren when they become adults. I don\u2019t know what the CBI is doing in \nthe name of investigation and I shared my concern with the CM. He \nassured us that justice will be done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ishwar Yadav, whose son Niraj was among those killed, also met the CM.<\/p>\n
