Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad directed the Telangana State government to file counter affidavit in the case filed by DSC-1998 candidates seeking CBI investigation into alleged fraudulent appointments made by Warangal District Selection Committee (WDSC) in teachers’ recruitment.

Justice A Rajashekar Reddy gave this direction on Thursday while hearing a Writ petition filed by K Venu Goud and four others from Warangal district complaining of large scale irregularities and fraud in the selections to the Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) posts made under DSC-1998 and seeking CBI investigation into it.

The petitioners annexed the Inquiry Report submitted jointly by the Joint Collector and District Educational Officer of Warangal district to the District Collector in 2014 that clearly brought out the fraud perpetrated. It was stated in the report that there were at least five lists pertaining to the selections with varying figures of candidates selected.

It was also pointed out that a list of 65 candidates without any approval of the D EO or the Chairman of DSC was found and all those 65 candidates were appointed as teachers. One candidate who got 0 marks in written exam was called for interview and she was selected as a teacher.
