Implement High Court order

A total of 200 members of Dindigul District Elementary Teachers Association laid a siege to the District Elementary Education Office here on Monday demanding implementation of High Court order and adherence to seniority list while promoting teachers.

The members said that Kovilur panchayat union school secondary grade teacher Senthil Kumar should be promoted as BT teacher as per the seniority list in 2013. But the post was given to D. Neelaveni who was transferred from Salem to Dindigul, they said.

Challenging the posting, Senthil Kumar had approached Madurai Bench of Madras High Court in 2015 which, in turn, gave a decree in his favour. But the department did not implement the order till now, they said.

The association members raised the issue with DEEO Meenavathi. But she did not respond, alleged the association functionary Ganesan.
