PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad said on Sunday he would move the Supreme Court to seek its monitoring of the multi-crore government funds scam probe in Bhagalpur and other districts.

Reiterating his allegations that CM Nitish Kumar was aware of the Srijan funds scam, Lalu accused him of suppressing the facts to protect those involved in the embezzlement of government money to the tune of over Rs1,000 crore. “We will file a petition in the SC after our ‘BJP bhagaodesh bachao rally’ in Patna on August 27,” Lalu said.

“In 2013, then Bhagalpur DM Prem Singh Meena had ordered an inquiry after receiving complaints about illegal activities of the Srijan Mahila Vikas Sahyog Samiti founded by one Manorama Devi. But the inquiry report never came into public domain and the DM was transferred.” Lalu said Nitish should explain why inquiry report was suppressed and the DM was transferred.
