Supreme Court of India Personal Assistant Recruitment 2019 – All you need to know

Supreme Court of India (SCI) has invited online applications for two separate panels of Personal Assistant (PA), and Senior Personal Assistant (SPA) for filling up of 35 and 23 vacancies respectively. The registration process have already begun and the last date to apply thereof is October 24, 2019 at 24.00 hours at sci.gov.in.

In order to apply for senior personal assistant profile, it is essential to possess a Bachelor’s degree with english shorthand typing speed of 110 words per minute, and a 2 years working experience as a Stenographer Grade D or steno typist. While those with a bachelor’s degree and possess english shorthand speed of 100 words per minute are eligible to apply for the post of personal assistant. For both the posts, candidates must have a basic computer knowledge with a typing speed of 40 words per minute.

Besides the requisite educational qualification, candidates applying for the post of Senior Personal Assistant should be below 32 years of age and those applying for the post of Personal Assistant should be below 27 years of age.

Before filling up the application form, candidates should keep handy of an active mobile number, email ID, a scanned photograph having 5cm height and 3.8 cm width and a scanned signature having 2.5 cm height and 5 cm width.

Candidates will be required to pay non-refundable application fee of Rs. 300 by general / OBC candidates and Rs 150 by SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PH candidates /dependents of freedom fighters. Fee shall not be accepted in any other form. No postal application shall be accepted. The fee have to be paid online through payment gateway provided by UCO Bank.

The eligible candidates will have to first appear in the written test. The pattern of the written test for both the post is similar. It will be an objective type of paper carrying multiple choice questions from general english, general aptitude, general knowledge. The total marks of the paper is worth 100 and candidates will have to qualify the test by securing with an aggregate of 50 marks. The paper is of a duration of 1 hour 45 minutes.

After the written test, there will be a english shorthand test of 110 WPM. The time for the transcription will be of 45 minuted and candidates will be allowed to make only 5 % mistakes of the total words dictated. The duration of the shorthand test is of 7 minutes. A weightage of 100 % is carried if a candidates pass the test without any mistake / error, 90 % for upto 1 % mistake, 80 % for upto 2% mistake, 70 % for upto 3 % mistakes, 60 % for upto 4 % mistakes and 50 % for upto 5 % mistakes.

Those who qualify both the objective type written test and computer knowledge test, will be called for typing speed on computer, wherein candidates have to type with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute. Only 3 % mistakes are allowed in the typing speed. The total marks of the typing speed test is 10 and the minimum qualifying marks is 5.

The candidates who qualify the Interview by securing minimum qualifying or more marks will be empanelled in the order of merit for appointment as Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant.
